Lagula Arquitectes is an architectural firm based in Barcelona since 2001, founded and led by five partners: Marc Zaballa Camprubí, Martín Ezquerro Fernández, Ignacio López Alonso, Manel Morante Mediavilla, and Toni Alonso Ortega. Together with a broad team of collaborators, they develop projects in the fields of architecture, interior design, and urban planning.
Lagula Arquitectes has been awarded in numerous architectural competitions, including the International Housing Competition VIVA in Mieres (Asturias), and the Museum of La Patum in Berga (Barcelona), a Catalan festival declared a Masterpiece of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO.
In parallel to their professional practice, the five partners are also involved in research and teaching activities at national institutions such as UPC-BarcelonaTech, UIC, IAAC, and ELISAVA, as well as internationally at universities like Tsinghua University in Beijing and AAVA in London.
The studio has participated as guest speakers in international events and conferences including the World Architecture Festival (WAF), the INSIDE Festival, and the Smart City Expo World Congress.
Lagula Arquitectes’ work has been recognized and exhibited at major platforms such as the European Union Prize for Contemporary Architecture – Mies van der Rohe Award, the 55th Venice Biennale, and the FAD Awards. Their projects have been widely published in both national and international architectural media.
